Surf’s up!

After a night and day of relentless rain and howling wind, this evening I could get out for a walk along the beach. The tide was very high and the surfers flocked down. The evening light was beautifully soft and calming.

I’m at my mum’s in Dorset and have had three busy days opening several months’ worth of post, chucking and filing, taking her to buy curtains and with my brother, fitting them. Usually I get down the beach every day when I’m here but this time the weather has been so spectacularly awful that I’ve made it just once. Better luck next time. So much for August huh?!
