Gatekeeper

I originally had the butterfly as my main shot, the golden rod made a lovely background for this shot of a Gatekeeper earlier on today.  Not only that, the butterfly has obligingly slightly opened its wings so that you get a glimpse of the the top of the wing and the underwing.  

However, the consensus seems to be that most people prefer the dragonfly and for that reason I've swapped them round.  We seem to have had another little burst of emergences from the pond this morning and several newly emerged common darters flapped off when I went to see what was happening.  A bit later on a more mature female came back and settled for a while in the grasses so I thought I'd share her with you.
