Keeping him going
We had very early starts at the Scottish Six Days Orienteering Festival so the three of us were off to a soggy Culbin by 8.15. The walks to and from starts/finish were long so Euan stayed home with his Dad (no longer Daddy it seems) and they played with the marble run for a while before heading off to the Crazy Golf in a very wet Inverness. They called in at a phone place en route and a wonderful woman fixed Becky's phone (see yesterday for that story!)
Meanwhile, we three were running around the fabulous forested sand dunes of Culbin. Tony and Becky had good runs whereas the less said about mine the better. Still far too much headless chickening! I did enjoy being out in Culbin though, it is a very special place....and I saw a lot of it....
On the way back to Findhorn we called in at Tesco so that Becky could get some chocolates for the very helpful neighbour yesterday and we drove to drop them off through her letterbox.
Becky and I had lunch at a delightful café on the front, yummy roasted vegetable soup, then I walked to the bakery to order tomorrow night's pizzas so we don't have to cook. Euan and his Dad arrived home and Tony and I watched the World Cup Mixed Sprint from Czechia (I think GB1 were disqualified sadly but Ralph did win gold in the Individual Sprint yesterday, woo hoo!) whilst playing with the marble run. When it was obvious Euan was waning and his Mum and Dad needed some down time, we took him out for a ride on his bike through the village and down to the beach where he practised his skidding on the sand. Hopefully tomorrow, the final day of competition, the weather will be brighter and I might leave the headless chicken at home!
