Looking Up

Looking up the nave towards the East alter.

I met with Nicoiseannie this afternoon in Biggleswade to have a first exploratory visit to St Andrews Church. 

It has a fascinating history and dates back to 1276 according to their website, with many additions of course over the years and since 1985 has been in excellent order thanks to modern restoration of the tower, south porch, bells, organ, clock tower etc etc. A lot of the funds raised by The Friends of St Andrews.

We are going to make a point of visiting a lot more of the churches in our area as they do provide a great insight into local history and are (of course) very blippable!!

However, we missed at least one feature of some note, only found out doing research after the visit. Moral of the story - research first!
