Barging along!

We took Chloe down to the canal for a walk this afternoon but ended up not doing much walking. A young man was lying on the grass by the roadside obviously quite unwell. He told us that he was from Holland and was doing a walking holiday. He has been wild camping and had drunk some water from a stream and had picked up a very nasty bug. He had called for an ambulance and we decided to wait with him until it arrived. Well, it didn’t so we ended up getting him into the car and drove him to the hospital. I was a bit underwhelmed by the reception staff at the hospital but I suppose they were rather busy. However, I hope he gets straightened out and can soon continue his holiday. 
Today’s extra is a nod to the bicycle races that will be taking place throughout Scotland in the next few days. I hope the eco types don’t do anything silly during the various events!
