Aya and more
Woke up late and got up later, not sleeping well in this insufferable and humid heat. However, I went in to school around 2pm. The next and final Summer School Art programme starts on Monday and so I spent some time in the studio getting everything ready for class.
Once the room was ready I walked to the Bakkal (local store) to buy essential provisions - cat food, beer and bread - before walking home to shower and collapse on the bed for an hour in recovery mode. I cheered up when Ron, Yuki and Aya arrived at 5pm. Even happier when, after some 'hello kitty' for Aya, we visited Melissa next door, who's keeping her A/C on 24/7 - ah bliss. Thus restored we all walked to Bizim Tepe for drinks and dinner again, as yesterday, and again, had a jolly time - especially when we all started reading aloud from Aya's book in German. She thought it was hilarious. Apparently my accent was quite good, even if I didn't understand a word ! Funniest, if you are Aya, was Daddy's pronunciation (pictured), Mummy's was funny too, .but best was Melissa (pictured) who is fluent so talked to Aya who goes to German school in Frankfurt now so will soon be fluent too.
