Finding My Bearings

By JustJuli

Life’s a beach!

We spent most of our last full day in India at the beach, paddling in the Arabian Sea, eating ice cream, watching fishermen mending their nets and marvelling at crabs digging holes in the sand.

There were literally thousands of little crabs on the beach, which - sadly for them - provided a good meal for both the hundreds of brahminy kites - also called ‘sea eagles’ - and the many stray, but friendly, dogs. The fishermen also put any fish they’d caught that were too small to sell onto the sand for the birds and dogs, so they all seemed to be well-fed!

I don’t know if this police officer was on duty or not but he had his children with him. Unlike at the airport, I did not get arrested.
