Odd place to eat your dinner

We were out at the Fringe yesterday whilst Phin enjoyed an overnight stay at doggy daycare. First up was a compilation of acts as part of the local ratio station Forth One hosting Forth on the Fringe. Really enjoyed most of the acts, they all have an 8 minute slot to showcase their show and it was a fairly eclectic mix of acrobatics, comedy and music.

Afterwards we headed to the new Edinburgh street food market for a bite to eat and a glass or two of vino with my friend Susan. We headed up towards the Pleasance and we’re drawn into Brewhemia for a cocktail en route to the Pleasance. Managed to pick up tickets for a comedy act, a young chap called John Tothill who describes himself as the ‘last libertine’ and took us on a journey from 1513. The venue was quite small but was pretty full and we really enjoyed the hour we didn’t in his company. He’s apparently tipped as one of the new acts to watch this year so we chose wisely.

We walked Susan to the station to catch her train home and as we would have had to wait for almost an hour to catch a train ourselves we headed off to catch a bus. Why is it that a transport app never tallies with the electronic signs at the bus stop?

There was a long wait!

We entialky got on a bus which was very busy and managed to find seats at the back , walking past the two ‘gentlemen’ in the set of 4 seats in the extras. Both had bags on a second seat and one had his feet up on the seat opposite. I chickened out of telling them to move their belongings but wish I had said something.

Thanks to davidc for keeping SillySaturday alive in Admirer’s memory. I spotted the forks and remains of a salad as we walked to the bud and it struck me as an odd way to want to eat your dinner!
