Two Turtles Walk Into A Pub
I liked the gesture of the turtle on the right with his paw (if that's the correct term) turned out. It's as though the two of them are having a conversation and I imagine the smaller one is telling a joke to the other.
I think these are Midland Painted Turtles (as opposed to Western, Eastern or Southern), but the distinguishing feature is on the underside of the shell. I wasn't about to wade out there and pick one up to find out.
They like to sit on logs and bask in the warm sunlight, usually only when it gets hot. Apparently they eat underwater because their tongues do not move freely.
