UCI Cycling World Championships and Airport.
Good summary of today!
The UCI World Cycling Championships Men’s Elite Roadrace passed nearby today. We’ve followed it’s planning for ages, knew the route and timings well. So we went to watch the spectacle. Excellent idea. Impressive.
And then we went home to view some more of the Roadrace on TV before going to the airport to pick up “the cruisers.” This UCI statue was near the Arrivals area. There were lots of cyclists and team staff arriving. The 11 day cycling programme sees 13 UCI World Championship events coming together for the first time, creating the biggest cycling event in history.
Our younger son and partner arrived a little late, and we’d a first chat re their holiday. We’re having family dinner tomorrow so we’ll all catch up more then. I look forward to that. They’ve had a fine time.
On the way home we detoured to the Scotland Rugby team camp to collect something. Yesterdays victorious players were returning and assembling for onward travel to France.
