Sadness and joy

Old age brings both.
Today J. our dear Arnside friend for many years is leaving to live in Sussex nearer to her family. It is the right thing to do while she is fit and well. She will be greatly missed by very many in the village. But the joy comes from how lucky we have been to have her friendship and technology means we can stay in touch.

Later in the week we are going to a funeral of another village friend well into her nineties. For her we have to rely on many good memories.
