Gavin at the top play-hole on the River Garry, near Invergarry.
There was a planned freshet release of water from the hydro dam on the Garry today, which doesn't happen often at weekends, and water sports enthusiasts came from far and wide, along with rafts with folk that were taking part in the Drambuie Pursuit challenge event. A lot of the kayakers were advanced level, and very comfortable mucking about at the favourite play spots. Met a group from the Eas Canoe Club, based in Falkirk, and they asked if they could have a few photos for their website, so I obliged. I was pleased with the results, and they were 'chuffed to bits' with them.
Had recently bit the bullet, sold a lot of gear and used a load of savings to buy the Nikon 70-200mm lens, and in today's testing at the River Garry it certainly proved its worth, IMHO, especially the very fast autofocus.
I asked the fella in the green helmet (2nd extra) if he was using 'the force' as his eyes were firmly closed in every photo I had of him!
