Missing Tom’s toms.
We walked over to the pond this morning.
Got chatting to a young man and his little boy who had come to see the ducks and geese.
He had only lived in the area for four years and we got talking about how our grandchildren used to like coming to the pond and buying tomatoes from Tom. We showed him where the nursery used to be. Now looking very neglected as thistles have taken over. ( see photo bottom left)
The geese have all their adult feathers and i don’t think it will be long before they will be off.
Although the water level is now back to normal it is still very murky, but MrC did spot a couple of sizeable fish.
I spotted a very battered butterfly. A meadow brown I think. ( see top right)
It has been a lovely summer’s day.
Hopefully this weather will last for a while.
