Playroom

TK wanted to visit the ward playroom today, so taken a few metres down the ward in his pushchair, his drips along side . Seen here playing with a toy otoscope and other doctors instruments; a charity volunteer or an occupational therapist joined us and arranged a foil roof canopy and multi-coloured fibre optic cables to play with. Then it was a swivel round to play in the toy kitchen area.

He's been on the verge of being allowed home for a day or two for a number of days now, but has not recovered enough narrowly missing today with a chemo blood reading of 0.16 when 0.15 was the "pass mark". His parents had most of his toys n teddy's back home the previous day, so that made things much harder for him I would think. His comments certainly made me sad in realising he was understanding more about his predicament and disappointment at remaining in the ward. We had much banter as usual though. More spinal chemo tomorrow as part of round two, so doesn't seem likely to me that he'll be let out for a while yet :-(

Quite upset tonight and a few tears flowing.
