2023 Tuesday — Mr. Fun’s Poppies
Many days have vanished since the last update here regarding Mr. Fun’s Poppies. The original poppy plants reached their life expectancy and have now been removed. Their seeds were collected.
New poppy plants purchased at local nurseries have been placed in the soil of the flower beds; they are infants and quietly producing their first blossoms.
Without invitation, but certainly welcomed, several volunteer poppies have established residency in the yard and they are healthy and happily blooming bouquets all day.
These photos are the volunteer poppy on the lowest patio level of the garden. They are growing right thru the green chain link fence, which was the only fence in the backyard until construction started on the retaining walls almost a year ago.
The backyard has been a grand playground for us.
