Sighthill otter

A great final stretch of the Union Canal with 12 Glasgow Ramblers made memorable by the unexpected and delightful sighting of an otter very close to Sighthill just a few kilometres from the city centre. We watched it trot along the opposite canal bank, dive into the water and eventually re-emerged to sidle off into the urban undergrowth.

After refreshments in the Water of Leith Visitor Centre we all went our separate ways in Edinburgh, several of us had booked theatre tickets and Anne and I went to the Dovecot Studios for the Scottish Women Artists exhibition, 250 Years of Challenging Perceptions which was excellent.
