The tournament

The tournament continues. I have been spending evenings in the shade of the clubhouse terrace watching the matches. As the weaker players are eliminated, the standard increases and the matches become more entertaining for the spectators. Today has been given over mostly to the sport. The penalty shoot out which the French women lost was exciting and the English women did well to progress. We should be able to ring al bells tonight as we have visitors. We will have to make a smart getaway as it is the annual street party. Every year we take our English signature dish which is always well received, bread and butter pudding. A nod to being in France is that we use brioche instead of bread which works very well.
