Bumble on Dahlia

There are always jobs to be done. So before beginning with all of that I took a few photos in the garden. I was inspired by a report in the Guardian newspaper of an exhibition in Glasgow of macro photographs of insects in a local park by photographer David Hamilton. Simply superb, and leagues above me in skill levels. I have a lot of learning to do.

This is a bumblebee, species unknown - I have looked carefully at my Bee guide and am still none the wiser. The “ bug” finder on my phone isn’t helpful either. It thinks this is a common eastern bumblebee. And it does look like it, except it’s a North American species. I remain puzzled,
