Wall Flower Festival
There is a flower festival in the St George's Church in Wall Village this weekend. It is just down the road from us so I popped along this afternoon.
The church was built in 1896 and saved the parishioners the 1.5mile walk to Heavenfield on Sundays.
Tomorrow there will be open gardens too.
I was impressed with what a small group had achieved in a relatively small space. My extra shows one splendid arrangement that shouted for attention.
I called to see Jenny and Dennis afterwards. They were on good form. Jenny has had positive reports from health professionals recently and that has cheered her. They also had a day out to Kelso, in the Borders, on Thursday and had enjoyed the views from the car.
Margret called over later. Today would have been her 62nd wedding anniversary. Mum always remembers these things.
