The Goddess Of Lavender
Today's image was taken on my walk back from accompanying my brother up to the station to catch his train. It was a glorious summer early morning with beautiful light and an azure blue sky that we haven't seen much of recently.
It was again captured in the Garden Of Honour in the Royal British Legion Village which has been a fairly constant source of blip images for my journal. Originally I wasn't getting the angle I wanted and it was only once I laid on my back and pointed my camera upwards that the lavender came into view and provided the framing that I wanted for this ornate stone urn - but then I tried to get up on my feet again and I could immediately feel I'd aggravated an old back injury. I should know better at my age but sometimes we have to suffer for our art! :-)
So I must admit I did complete the last part of walk looking like a stooping wizened old man but as the day went on I did start to straighten up a bit more and at least I was happy with the result of my painful endeavours! :-)
