Acropolis in Heat
We were in Greece as Cereberus was raging across Southern Europe. We may the decision to go to Lycabettus Hill rather than the Acropolis when we were in Athens. Grateful for the choice as we later heard that the people on excursions to the acropolis struggled with the heat and the Red Cross were there handing out water. The next day, the site was closed due to the heat.
At Lycabettus Hill we got up in a funicular and it was a lot cooler/ quieter which meant much easier to cope with the heat. Bonus was we still had great views of the Acropolis.
Stunning views from the top and a nice little quick visit to Athens.
