Stepping Back in Time

Third stop was Kuşadası  in Turkey where we visited Ephesus - another amazing location - fantastic to be walking in streets that were walked on thousands of years ago - humbling really.


I had never considered Turkey as a holiday destination before but I have to say we really loved it there.  Just a day trip.  After the trip to Ephesus we had a wander in the port area and we had an amazing (and cheap) lunch as well as seeing a display on how silk carpets are made.  Overall it was a very nice day.


The building in the picture was the library and the story goes that there was a cheeky door in the library to the whorehouse so that the men could be sneaky about visiting women - the women had to be well read so that they could give the men details on the goings on of the day so that they could tell their wives what was going on in society/ and what they read about etc - bit naughty, really.
