Leaky Castle
Queenie dear, you know that moat you wanted for the castle. Did it really need to go all the way round?

'Castles' was the lighter game of the day. Earlier I'd played (but not photographed) a game of Hegemony, where the Working Class, Middle Class, Capitalists and the State, fight it out for supremacy (or, at least, the most points). It's a recent game that I'd seen but not played. It's asymmetric in that actions available to each faction (i.e. player) are very different, and slightly cooperative because if the economy collapses everyone suffers.
It's one of those games that looks complicated but the elegance of the design makes it easier to play. The Working Class lost out (what's new?) under my leadership but not as badly as I expected as the others had played before - and I did have a bit of fun calling for a General Strike when the Capitalists and Middle Class had got a bit complacent on the wages they were paying.
