Twisted
I must admit that when I awoke this morning, the head was a little foggy, which I am putting down to mine host’s home brewed wine!
Pleased to say that I wasn’t the only one feeling the burn and was glad of the walk (where we passed this tree) to the garden centre where MG works for bacon/sausage butties, cinnamon swirls and a pot of tea. I felt like I came to a little more after that and took up her offer of a go on her electric mountain bike, which was tremendous fun and felt like riding a small motor bike!
We ambled back to the house and watched the Lionesses win a fantastic match and make it through to the semi-finals of the World Cup. Shortly thereafter we were informed that we were off to the pub for a late lunch and so had another lovely amble through the countryside for a drink and lunch in excellent company.
Our route home took us back via a local cricket match, so three of us stopped for a couple of drinks as we watched the away side crumble to some truly impressive bowling from the home team. It was nice just to sit for a while chatting and laughing with no particular place to be.
With the game done, we walked back to base and sat out talking some more on the terrace adjacent to the river and just taking in our beautiful surroundings.
Another fab day of feeling very spoiled.
