Sunflowers in the sun

At last - a whole day of sun and no rain!

A farm just on the edge of St Austell has opened up their sunflower field - just a £5 admission charge for a hospice charity.

The flowers were a bit battered by the torrential rain and gusts of wind we’ve been having. It’s amazing to see how they stretch out into the distance. The farm’s owners have planted so there’s a one way zig zag path weaving through the flowers. There were hundreds and hundreds of many different types of bees enjoying themselves. Apparently last year it was too wet to harvest the seeds so masses of birds flew in and ate the seeds!

The forecasters say it will be sunny AGAIN tomorrow!

Update: Just checked and I blipped these on August 17th last year. The flowers were bigger.
