Farewell to the Algarve
All good things must come to an end. Our Airbnb host arranged for us to leave our luggage in the common area after we checked out at 11:00 am. Our flight wasn't until 3:35 pm, so we had lots of time to pass until then.
We had a final breakfast and then took a final wander around the streets nearby, gradually working our way up to a spot we'd decided would be a good place to have a taxi pick us up. As taxi time approached, Carl went back to pick up our suitcases and trundled along over the cobblestones with them.
The special assistance arrangements were good at the airport and we were prioritised and were first to board the plane. Three and a half hours later we were back in Dublin (where the assistance team pulled out all the stops and whisked us speedily through passport control and out to the taxi rank. The sun was weakly shining, but it was a good bit cooler than what we'd left and we got our first view in twelve days of grey skies rather than clear blue ones.
This was out first experience of the Algarve. We loved it.
