At the top of Beacon Hill, Leicestershire
You will find this year's sculpture trail. It was at The Outwoods last year. Several of the art installations have made it back this year along with several new ones.
I was delighted to be able to go. Len finally summoned the courage to disassemble Cecily, load her into the car, and then reassemble her in the car park. He had to do it all again coming back, but he managed. It was a lovely walk.
I took my infrared camera because I find that the 'sculptures' show up better against the foliage since green leaves reflect infrared light and show up very bright in photos. View the album on Flickr.
Installations in colour are better recorded on an 'ordinary' camera.
Many of the artworks were made in conjunction with schools and organisations helping older people with mental health issues. One work was made by Men and Women in Sheds, an AgeUK initiative.
Len had a little ride on Cecily when he found his back was aching but he did give her back. See extra.
Afterwards, we drove to the bottom of the hill where the cafe was still just about open and enjoyed latte and some very nice cake.
