A pair of Kings
I must confess it takes very little photographic skill to capture a photo of King parrots at O’Reilly’s in Lamington National Park. They and the Crimson Rosellas are used to being fed and are very tame.
I had fellow blipper isbiJG in mind as I lined up a shot with a male and female together little knowing that down in NSW he was doing exactly the same in very different circumstances..
The photo in extra with myself and the Rosellas was taken by a nice man from Brisbane who offered to do it - Mrs AMK was reading her kindle some distance away and wouldn’t go near any bird that lands on your head !
The other extra shows the replica of the Stinson used in the movie The Riddle of the Stinson. It was moved to O’Reilly’s due to the connection with the family since it was Bernard O’Reilly who had worked out the possible crash site of the plane in 1937 and had struggled through the wild terrain from this place to find it and rescued 2 survivors many days after it crashed in a storm..I had no idea of the story when we booked this part of the trip .I have bought his book in the shop to read on the journeys home.
All good things have to come to an end and tomorrow we set off for home after an amazing trip to Aus that has made our decision to attend our niece’s wedding such a good one.
Life is going to seem very dull back home !
