The Palm House

After yesterday's abortive attempt to visit Kew Gardens, today I successfully made the trip. The drive in was not quite as good due to roadworks having mysteriously appeared overnight, but nevertheless I arrived in good time to get prime position in the car park!

Once in the gardens I have a wonderful day, managing to visit all of the key locations including in the glass houses and Kew Palace.  

As far as I can recall, my last visit was with my parents soon after the Princess of Wales Conservatory opened in 1987, though I still remember Sunday afternoon visits as a child when parking was free around Kew Green and you entered via the penny turnstiles.  It has all changed somewhat since then!
