Classic Stourhead

I saw that the National Trust were hosting an exhibition of photographs at Stourhead, Earth Photo 24 - a collaboration between the Royal Geographical Society, Forestry England and Parker Harris celebrating photographic and film work that conveys the world around us and makes us think differently. What better excuse for a day out with sunny warm weather forecast.

The photos were stunning and thought provoking. What are we doing to this world of ours, and how can we bring it back from the brink :-(

I visited the house which was interesting with displays currently focussing on the women who lived in or influenced its development since the 1740s when it was built. It was then time a walk round the gardens taking in the classic views of this world-famous landscape garden with a lake set among lawns and classical temples, surrounded by trees and with sweeping views.  Although it made for a lovely walk, the wall to wall sunshine and direction of the sun were not conducive to great photos, but I couldn't resist giving you the classic view across the lake from the village for today's Blip!
