Circles in the Sand

In the summer the sand above high tide at Portobello is occasionally treated to a makeover by a big tractor with a rake. It had just completed the task as we arrived for our swim allowing me to take this blip of its turning circle in the sand.

I was home with all my gear de-sanded and drying outside in time to meet up with friends from East Lothian in town for an early visit to the Eye Pavilion. Since bacon rolls were what they had set their hearts on for breakfast, we had to foresake Söderberg and go next door to Starbucks. We sat outside with Peggy the dog and while they scoffed their bacon rolls, we indulged in just a little ‘organ recital’, not much, but enough to learn who amongst our acquaintance was ill and who was beyond Earthly contact.

After they left and I got home, daughter#1 blew in for a cuppa. The sun appeared and we sat outside until she had to go. It’s been a very sociable day so far.
