Repeat Offender
Eucomis bicolor. A summer flowering bulb from South Africa. It's striking flowers and unusual appearance make it a great subject for photography .... and a Blip. It's appeared here numerous times since it's debut just over ten years ago. The ones here are not the originals but seedlings that self sowed in the Norwich garden. Maybe the seeds were from these seed pods. It has proved hardy outside here and in Norwich.
A very complicated day. With Jamie still very much out of sorts, it was a great help that he could spend some time with Rachel today but much of what I did was still connected with his needs. A very helpful and understanding doctor phoned and suggested that it was ok for Jamie to stop the steroids that seem to have caused the latest extra difficulties. It may take a while for the effect to wear off though. She has also organised tests for tomorrow to make sure there is no underlying infection problem. I did find time to sort through a few more pots of bulbs and got a load of laundry dry in the gusty winds. We had tea with Clara and family on the prom, their week marred by a break in at home while Jamie and Clara's week has been spoiled by his problems. There will be better times ahead!
