In the garden
I had the day off work today :) Started the day off with a wander round the garden (in my pyjamas) with my camera and macro lens, and then a nice sunny sit in my hanging chair. Lovely. Once we were up and about, Tim and I made a start on tackling the spare room - going through the boxes, unpacking some things, consolidating others, and ending up with several empty boxes. Still a work in progress, but it was a good start.
After lunch, we drove to a garden centre outside Barnstaple, and had a good wander round. We were very restrained and only came away with three lavender plants and a weeding tool. Back home, we turfed out the slightly sad looking hebes that were in pots at the top of the driveway and replaced them with two of the lavenders (planting the third one in the flower bed, where the cats tend to hang out/defecate - we've read that they don't like the smell of lavender, so hoping it'll deter them). Tim also worked up a sweat digging a hole in the front border for one of the hebes to go in. Our next door neighbour, Liz, very kindly donated one of her garden spades to us, bless her - and gave us some advice on some of the other random things that were growing out the front.
Nice relaxed evening after that, as we were both knackered!
