Chilling Out

Scottish cows are not used to high temperatures, so it was obviously with some relief that this herd was able to take a cool paddle in the River Isla near my home:-) That mist in the background was not rain on the way, as I first thought, but a heat haze and the thermometer went up to a dizzy 22 degrees or so later in the afternoon!

Unfortunately the wind got up a bit too, so the planned meal on the patio was sabotaged when a strong gust caught the parasol the wrong way and snapped the support in two. I wouldn't mind, but we've only used it a few times, although we've had it a number of years. Just as well I bought the new gazebo, even if it does take two of us to put it up, as we're having friends over for a barbecue tomorrow evening:-) Hope the forecasters have got it right this time and we'll have another sunny day.
