(233) The Torry Coo

I've seen this foghorn before but have only just discovered the local name for it. Built in 1902 to replace an earlier installation, the fog warning signal operated until the 1980s when it and all others in Scotland were shut off by the Northern Lighthouse Board, modern ships thought to be too large and enclosed for the captain to hear a fog signal.
