High Pike on High Pike

This is the top of High Pike on the northern side of the Lake District. It's 2157 feet high. The bench has various memorials and the Trig point plate has been replaced with direction indicator as a millennium project.

I've been up this fell more than any other. My Uncle introduced me to the fells and this was the first we ascended. It's a special place.

A beautiful day. On the way up and down I saw not a soul. Lots of skylarks, meadow pippits and swallows.
