Red Admiral

A rather busy day in the garden with help from my lovely student, so my walk was a brief one.  Luckily there are suddenly quite a lot of red admiral butterflies around the Green, particularly on overhanging buddeia.  However, this one was on hawthorn - I think, though admit I forgot to really clock that - oops!

Otherwise it's been a peaceful day.  I'm now nursing a sore back from digging, but much of the hard work is done so that's okay by me ;))
