Drone-fly

.. on hogweed, by the looks of it!

I found this rather flash little person in the reserve this morning and liked all the shiny black and chocolate brown.  Drone-flies are honey bee mimics but it's a type of hoverfly so no-one gets stung ;)  A good walk and a nice meet up with a friend towards the end of it.

The rest of the day's been an exhausting mix of gardening, cleaning and shopping, but tonight I shall treat myself to a good long read in compensation.
