It's a gorgeous sunny Friday, and my golden sandals need shining!'

The bronze statue is called Atlas Girl (Atlas-tyttö) and it's from 1954. The artist: Essi Renvall (1911-1979).

Atlas is a satin-based cloth binding, and the statue was donated to the city of Tampere as a memorial of the city's then-thriving textile industry.
