Showtime

It has been one of those days when I’ve been spoilt for choice of photo.

Preparations in the kitchen for the annual office flower show on Friday have provided shots of redcurrants defrosting (see attached).

A walk past a park on the way to a recital - a super event involving 3 world premiers - provided me with photos of summer wildflowers preserved in an uncut area of grass. That photo is on my Facebook page. Another area had thistles allowed to go to seed and that is also attached here.

The main photo is of the McEwan Hall being used by Underbelly to put on shows. Our son and I had been invited to view Mike Birbiglia and his new show: The Old Man and the Pool. He is an American comedian, new to me but has had various shows some broadcast on Netflix. It was a carefully constructed narrative. In the style of Billy Connelly he would spin off on some recollection but always reverted to the main storyline weaving in the various scenarios. Very entertains and fun - and thought provoking. It was his first time at the Fringe and the show was a sellout.

The wonderful interior of the Hall poked through the setting giving me this shot.

Outside as we headed home the city centre was buzzing.
