Heat network
I’m in Bristol today, visiting the city’s district heat network which my company runs. It’s an impressive operation and providing sustainable heating to many properties already. There are plans to expand which hopefully means I’ll have an excuse to go back. The technology still feels a little like magic to me but is actually fairly straightforward. A heat network is all about the flow of liquids and gases, controlled in energy centres and sub stations. Here’s a typical view.
