La Gréve

Weather wise it was a game of two halves today, rainy and a little cold this morning, then back to brilliant sunshine after lunch. We spent the day exploring, mostly on the île d’Oléron, but we bookended the day with a visit to Mornac (in search of the best ice cream in the region according to our host) and oysters and wine on the way home, and close to home in La Gréve. The restaurants of La Gréve sit amongst the region’s oyster beds and inlets and we watched the fishing and tourist boats come and go as we ate.
