Family tea

A superb morning strolling and stopping along the “River of Seven Names”, each time it disappears into a sink hole and then reappears several kilometres later it is assigned a new name. Eventually it becomes the River Ljubljana which flows through the capital. Toads, crickets (long antennae), grass hoppers (short antennae) - today’s fact, featured.

Another substantial lunch of green salad, creamy ravioli and cake fortified us for a third and final six hour session in the bear hides. After 2.5 hours we were rewarded with a lengthy view of a bear family. A healthy looking mother and three very sweet cubs, one smaller than the others and one very confident cub who was the last to arrive and the last to go bounding after it’s siblings keen to catch up. More than made up for the no show on Tuesday.
