Art Deco
We ran together again, and ran further today. TT had been looking at a map, so worked out an extension to the route we took yesterday. Unfortunately it took us along very wet and overgrown paths, through fields with cows and mud and then we couldn’t quite work out the route, but managed to pic the path up again. And then there were the hills. My feet were soaked. I won’t be going along that route again.
Once we were properly ready for the day, we headed off to Bridport, where we wandered around the town and market and then walked down to West Bay, where we were meeting friends for lunch. The day had started off bright, but was getting duller and cooler. I was delighted that the path to West bay has now been fenced off from the cows, unfortunately the path was very wet at one point, and TT had to lift me over as I had the wrong footwear on! We went to a café we had been to before, as requested by BB. We had a lovely lunch and catch up with A&M, who were down visiting M’s mum who lives nearby. We walked back to Bridport, but we went a different route. As we got back to Bridport the rain started. A and M headed off, while we did a couple of bits of shopping. We didn’t hang about though, as the rain got heavy. We then stopped at the supermarket and headed home. The weather really closed in and it was horrible.
It was a perfect excuse to read my book while enjoying a gin and tonic. We had an easy tea and then there was more Mapp and Lucia.
I took hardly any pictures today, as it was so very grey. This is from the front of the Electric Palace in Bridport – an art deco building on South Street. I’d love to see the interior.
