Road trip!

Look at this. Beautiful clouds reflected in an evenings river

We have just spent two and a bit hours in a very chaotic restaurant . The maitre d’ had no idea. There was a queue of 15 people when we arrived with our booking in hand.

He wandered back and forth getting into everyone’s way and eventually seated everyone in front of us…. Sadly for them but happily for us the couple in front of us were placed in the kitchen doorway …. We had a nice seat where we could watch the chaos

The waitress who took our drink order did not know what table number we were and guessed . One drink arrived and the waitress knew not if it was alcoholic or Virgin … so. Off it went again

Eventually the drinks arrived. Confirmed. Than the starters. My carpaccio of filet turned out to be sandwich steak cooked til it was … chunky hmmm

It was a good forty five minutes after our starters were removed before the mains arrived. My linguini was spaghetti. Good job am not fussy. We laughed as we watched food arrive at all tables and everyone shaking heads. Weirdly the chef (who looked like the Swedish chef from the muppets kept bringing the food out with no clue where he was taking it

The couple placed at three table next to us were possibly in their fifties on a first date. They were very small in stature and when the Man was sat at the table. It came up to his neck bone

When their bill came ; they had half their bill and half the next table (four people). Oh the joy as they ripped the bills up and tried to count up the ripped pieces

(Yes they arrived ate and left before we were served)

Hey ho. It was fine. The staff were lovely, stressed and trying their hardest. It was highly entertaining

A nice walk by the river was a perfect end to the day
