Flossmo

After yesterday's garden efforts I decided to award myself a 'me' day. I started with a couple of hours reading. It's a slightly odd book called Thunderstone. It's written by poet Nancy Campbell who bought a touring caravan, parked in on a bit of land along side the Oxford canal and proceeded to live in it.

I carried on reading after lunch, finishing an assortment of library books that are due back soon.  Later Mr Flossmo and I drove into Farnham and took a walk around Gostrey Meadow where The Fabulous Duck Brothers, an Eric Clapton tribute band, were playing.  Plenty of people had turned out to listen, many with their dogs, and a little group of people were sat with sketchbooks and pencils recording the event for posterity. It was all very suburban-Sunday-afternoon-Surrey.

After dinner Mr Flossmo and I watched the last episode of the seven-part 1980 Oppenheimer TV series (we have yet to see the film). The series was very good, if very dated in production terms. It felt more like watching a play than a TV series. But it did cover the trials and tribulations of his life in depth and is probably a good primer for the film.
