Flames

I came across a couple of flowering stems of crocosmia lingering in a shady corner, just what I needed for a bright photograph on another grey day. I think that this photo makes the individual flowers look like flames jetting out from little gas nozzles.
I managed a bit of gardening but the midges were a bit troublesome so I had to seek refuge indoors from time to time. I used that time to make some granary rolls and some tea cakes which Nick was particularly pleased about. He loves them toasted.
