GLIDING BY
I took two big baskets full of books to an Oxfam shop this afternoon and stopped at a farm shop and quickly at the park on the way home for this blip.
After I got home there was a flurry of activity on the WhatsApp family page as youngest sister A2, who I've mentioned before is cheffing at a fishing lodge in deepest Alaska providing gourmet grub at least four times a day for 18 people, was asking her big sisters for advice. One of their guests this week is a 3-Michelin-star chef and he'd asked her to make him a trifle. As she said, "No pressure, then." They get their groceries flown in from Anchorage when the weather allows and grow a few things in a small garden and greenhouses, and until recently had their refrigerators regularly raided by bears, so she was asking for our best trifle recipes, bearing in mind what she has available. We all chipped in - as if I could teach her anything about cooking - and, as sister R told her - I'm sure he'll love whatever she makes.
