Tuesday: Clint In River Arts

River Arts District is a very eclectic neighbourhood in Asheville.  We had breakfast there this morning and had a good look round the different artist studios. This was one of the many murals in the area.

The rest of the day was spent exploring downtown Asheville.  We’re just enjoying seeing all the things we can’t get. For example, the bookshop, which was almost overwhelming, so much so that I nearly laid down in the aisles and refused to leave.

We went to Hi-Wire Brewing this evening and found ourselves enrolled in their regular Tuesday pub-quiz.  We decided to throw ourselves into the fray.  

It was very American-culture centred so I’m pleased to report that K and I, with our little two person team, came a very respectable fifth (out of six).  I do think the question mistress cut us some slack though.  For example, when asked to name Hillary Clinton’s running mate in 2016, she gave us full marks for ‘Tim, who is a veteran and speaks Spanish’.   

But even she couldn’t help us when we had to ask what sport ‘world series’ related to. (Answer: Baseball…….apparently…)
