Harvest

Our grapes look more like raisins ...

Off on adventures tomorrow, made more exciting by wondering if the car is going to explode on the way. Our catsitter M arrived from Barcelona in time for a very late lunch -- we arranged this catsit some months ago and though we hadn't met her in person before today, S felt as if he knew her because he has done a few Zoom language exchanges (English-Catalan) with her.

We had lunch and then went for a wander to visit our vineyard, introducing M to the village gossipmongers en route. Then I went to my gym class for the first time in months. There were only four of us, and it was very entertaining because we spent the whole hour doing weights and abdominal crunches while simultaneously discussing the merits of Belgian chips and the many sauces you can have with them including one called sauce frites-frites

Well, 50% of us could do crunches and talk at the same time. K and I couldn't, so we just gave up on the crunches. Coach J-F gave us a detailed explanation of how to cook chips the Belgian way. Then we had a long discussion about a Belgian restaurant in Carcassonne called Belgitude. We were all hungry by the time we left.

At home we chilled out over wine, jamón, and pizza while discussing British and Spanish politics with M in a confusing (for me) mixture of English and Catalan. I feel fairly confident that Mystère will take to M, because he did not leave the room and even let her briefly touch him.
